Rubber Stamps on Glossy Surfaces?

Rubber stamps are great for so many uses, however there is a time when a customized address labels is the better choice. Most rubber stamp ink is forumalated to be stamped on matte surfaces, which 99% of the time, what most customers use stamps for. There is that 1% of customers that use stamps on glossy surfaces. The problem with stamping on glossy surfaces (such as glossy catalogs, doorhangers etc), is that it is a non poreous material, so the ink will only smear.

There is specially stamp ink that pads are are formulated specifically for stamping on glossy or non poreous surfaces. If you are stamping on a glossy or non-poreous make sure the ink you purchase is designed specifically for that use.

Another alternative would be to use a customized self adhesive address label. Address labels can be customized exactly the same way a rubber stamp can be customized. You can order customized address labels, or you can print your own. All you need is blank label stock, and inkjet or laser printer and a template that is used for designing the label. If you purchase blank labels from an office supply store, there should be instructions on downloading the proper template. If you use a program such as Microsoft Word, Printmaster Gold, Printshop Deluxe etc, they contain several label templates that are compatible with the most popular label sizes.
